Most people buying property in Cozumel buy with a bank trust, called a Fideicomiso (fee-day-co-miss-oh) . This trust is held by the bank and protects you as a foreigner investing in Mexico. The fee is determined by a percentage of your purchase price, you will be advised of the amount of this charge before you make an offer on a property.
